Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. As part of the nation's first research university, AAP offers high-quality master's degrees and certificate programs at its Washington, D.C., Center, at JHU's Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, and online. AAP enrolls almost 6,000 students each academic year in over 45 programs and distinguishes itself through its intensive instructional assistance, selective admissions, and 60 dedicated full-time faculty. Position description
The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach courses within the MA in Governmental Studies program. The course(s) will be taught online and/or onsite. Candidates with online course development and teaching experience and those with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest.

Salary

The expected salary range for this position is: $7,210.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A master's degree in government, political science, or any relevant field
  • At least three years of professional work experience in the related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A terminal degree in government, political science, or any relevant field
  • 1-3 years of graduate-level teaching experience 
  • 5 years of professional work experience in the related field.
  • The background to teach a wide variety of courses in the government program.
