Position description

ADA University’s School of Public and International Affairs invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Political Science. This full-time faculty role, starting in Fall 2025, offers a great opportunity for dynamic, innovative, and collaborative professionals who specialize in political science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of related undergraduate and graduate courses including State and Politics, World Politics, Comparative Politics, and other relevant subjects as required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent teaching experiences and actively engage in curriculum development.
  • Publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere among faculty.
  • Participate in university and school committees.
  • Provide thorough support and guidance to students.
  • Maintain a teaching load of 3/3, with the possibility of reducing this to 3/2 for Assistant Professors who demonstrate a strong research agenda.
  • Actively participate in university and community life.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field from an accredited institution, to be obtained by the start date.
  • A record of, or clear potential for, high-quality research and teaching corresponding to the position.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • A commitment to positively contributing to the university and academic community.
