Position description

The Consultant (Europe) to the Hydrogen Program will work under the supervision of the Hydrogen Europe Policy Manager, working closely with the broader Hydrogen Program and European Advocacy teams, as well as other CATF Program teams and functions on an as-needed basis. The Consultant shall also collaborate with external stakeholders and partner organizations, as required, to help execute strategies in support of CATF’s Hydrogen Program goals and objectives in the region.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support the finalization of the Hydrogen Europe strategy in close collaboration with the Europe Policy Manager and Hydrogen Program team;
  • Track progress of strategic activities and work with Europe colleagues to identify when and how activities will be undertaken;
  • Co-develop relevant materials for high-level meetings, conferences and meetings;
  • Support the facilitation of internal and external meetings;
  • Support the drafting and/or editing of briefings, letters, fact sheets, blog articles, public consultations, and other materials for internal and external consumption on existing and emerging hydrogen-relevant topics;
  • Support event organization;
  • Identify and support CATF involvement in high impact convening opportunities and contribute top post-event reporting and write-ups to keep CATF colleagues informed about developments and possible calls to action;
  • Follow relevant policy developments in Europe relevant to the Hydrogen Program;
  • Contribute to the development of policy briefs and materials to inform and socialize CATF’s positions with key policy stakeholders;
  • Help build a stakeholder network/engagement plan for Europe;
  • Join relevant stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

  • University degree in any relevant field;
  • A minimum of three years of experience in program management and administration, including managing meetings and respecting internal and external deadlines; policy analysis and execution experience is a plus;
  • Strong understanding of the European political and legislative landscape; knowledge of EU/Europe policies is a plus;
  • Strong interest in climate and energy policies; familiarity with the Fit-for-55 Package is a plus;
  • Previous experience working in clean hydrogen is a plus;
  • Candidate should be based in a European time zone (GMT or CET preferred) or willing to work within European business hours;
  • Proficient in English; additional languages a plus;
  • Supportive team player and good interpersonal skills, with sense of diplomacy to manage a varied group of stakeholders;
  • Good writing skills.
