Position description

The Office of Senator Ruben Gallego seeks a National Security Advisor to lead the Senator’s work on foreign policy, defense, veterans, intelligence, and related issues. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in national security policy, a robust understanding of both congressional and executive branch operations, and the ability to provide sound, actionable advice on complex geopolitical and security matters. A proven track record of bipartisan collaboration and policy success is essential. Familiarity with Arizona’s national security interests and defense community is a plus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, advising the Senator on policy and legislative developments, developing and advancing legislative initiatives with a focus on bipartisan solutions, representing the Senator in meetings with constituents, and collaborating with stakeholders in Arizona and DC to advance the Senator’s policy priorities.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Washington, D.C. Salary is commensurate with experience. Senator Gallego’s office is an equal opportunity employer.
