Why Join KPMG as an Assistant Manager - Corporate Intelligence (Arabic speaker preferred)

Your role will include helping to manage start-to-finish corporate intelligence engagements with oversight from managers and senior managers, including preparing proposals, overseeing research, retrieval and analysis of intelligence, tasking of subcontractors, and drafting of succinct, actionable intelligence reports.

What will you be doing?

The main requirements and responsibilities for Assistant Manager include:

  • Demonstrated track record of start-to-finish engagement management, with oversight from managers and senior managers, and liaison with more senior team members when appropriate.
  • Demonstrated track record of editing, drafting and delivering well structured, clearly written reports with minimal edits required (generally limited to style), and proactivity in ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Track record of supervising and supporting more junior colleagues in preparing research and reports, and overall training and developing of junior team members.
  • Demonstrated track record of writing winning proposals and assisting client pitches and marketing efforts of the Corporate Intelligence team.
  • Responsibility for distinct engagement management and risk processes of low to moderate complexity in line with risk management guidance, and with minimal guidance from senior colleagues (unless appropriate).
  • Contribution to the team’s research knowledge management, including proactive maintenance of team’s resources and research tools, identification and testing of new tools, and overall contribution to team research capabilities.
  • Experience tasking and managing subcontractors and third-party resources in a region of specialism (with a preference for MENA). Existing relationships with a network of subcontractors are a plus; and,
  • Enhancing the team’s understanding of geopolitical and business risks/ opportunities in a specific region (with a preference for MENA) and supporting the development of research, thought leadership, and other marketing efforts for the corporate intelligence team.

 

What will you need to do it?

  • Relevant work experience in Corporate Intelligence, though specialist experience in other relevant fields might include market and investment research, political risk analysis, investigations and online research, or other work requiring strong investigative background.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral and fluency in at least one other language with a preference for Arabic.
  • Demonstrable understanding of business risks/opportunities in at least one region (with preference for MENA).
  • Excellent research, analysis and report drafting skills are a must.
  • Excellent team working and problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet exacting deadlines, and cope with multiple competing client demands to ensure a consistent high quality service;
  • Drive and commitment to deliver a consistently excellent quality of deliverables and service, including throughout peaks and troughs of demand.
  • Ability to operate in a discreet and confidential manner; and,
  • Very strong academic qualifications, ideally in politics, international relations, languages, or other disciplines in social science.
