About the Global Governance Researcher

We have an opportunity to fill a brand-new role within Climate 2025 - a researcher focusing on current and envisioned global governance models, campaigns and pilots to further the work of new movements engaging with global governance.

This will be an exceptional opportunity for a gifted and driven individual to engage with the most up-to-date theories and activities around global governance and explore their potential for implementation. . 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about urgent systemic change and global governance that would enjoy exploring think tank, NGO, academic, governmental and social movement content.

This will be a remote position, with video conferencing. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • This will be a wide-ranging role, working closely with the Lead Consultants and with our movements to establish research priorities, develop briefs and prepare research plans. 
  • You will take a lead role in developing research methodology and information management. 
  • You will build a detailed understanding of the activities and strategic objectives of Climate 2025 and the movements we support to inform research priorities. 
  • You will identify relevant actors: think tanks, NGOs, academics, research bodies, that are working in the global governance space and explore their publications, identifying key approaches and processes in governance model design and implementation. 
  • You will work alongside researchers from across the world to produce and develop reports for use by Climate 2025 and its clients. 
  • You will work towards a portfolio of knowledge that balances global cultural, social and political perspectives.

Main duties 

  • Researching relevant actors to identify best practice globally
  • Exploring publications to identify: approaches, objectives and timelines 
  • Identifying theories of change explicit or implicit in activities and analysing against research brief
  • Preparing reports for Climate 2025, clients and for publication
  • Mapping actors identified against set criteria
