HR Manager

Center for Action and Contemplation

Position description

The Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) exists to support transformation and inspire loving action in the world through the teaching of Christian contemplative wisdom and practices. Our mission guides our work, and our team carries it forward each day. We are committed to a way of working that integrates our operations, culture, and shared values so that how we work together reflects what we teach in the world.

About the Job Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced and thoughtful HR Manager to serve as the operational backbone of our People Operations team. This role is essential in ensuring that CAC’s people systems run smoothly, compliantly, and in alignment with our values.

As an individual contributor reporting to the Director of People Operations, you will own and execute key HR functions across the full employee lifecycle. You will help run recruiting operations and onboarding to benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee relations support. You’ll partner closely with leadership and managers to bring consistency, clarity, and care to how we support our people.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both the structure and nuance of HR. We’re looking for someone who can balance compliance and process with empathy, curiosity, and a service-oriented mindset.

Who You Are

You are a proactive, detail-oriented HR professional who takes pride in owning your work end-to-end. You’ve likely worked in a smaller or growing organization where you’ve built a broad understanding of how HR functions connect and collaborate and are comfortable working across a range of responsibilities. You bring a thoughtful, grounded presence to your work. You are able to uphold policies and expectations while also approaching people with care and respect. You’re naturally curious, solutions-oriented, and motivated to improve systems and processes over time.

You’re excited about the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization and are energized by the idea of building and maintaining people practices that are both compliant and deeply human.
