About the European Climate Foundation
The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was established in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help Europe foster the development of a low-carbon society and play an even stronger international leadership role to mitigate climate change. The foundation works through several sectoral, cross-cutting, regional and international initiatives and collaborates with a wide network of partners to advance progress towards this shared goal.
About the role
The ECF is now seeking applications for an experienced and highly driven individual to take on the role of Fellow of the Clean Energy Innovation Programme.
The Clean Energy Innovation programme’s main objectives are to build on the innovation agenda to raise climate action and ambition internationally and domestically; to help significantly accelerate the lab-to-market process in Europe for commercializing clean energy technologies and solutions; to increase Europe’s and European countries’ commitments to fund clean energy research, development, and demonstration (RD&D). Through this effort, a suite of advocacy-related activities will be carried out to ensure that countries achieve maximum outcome and impact from increasing innovation budgets, communicate on the success stories to make this agenda more prominent in national debates, and bolster international collaboration on clean energy RD&D.
It closely interacts with Mission Innovation and the Breakthrough Energy Coalition.
Duties and responsibilities
The Fellow will be responsible for overseeing the Clean Energy Innovation programme, focusing primarily on Europe in 2018-2019, and ensuring it is aligned with and supportive of the ECF’s wider programmatic objectives. The Fellow will be working directly with a number of strategic partners to develop expert perspectives and advocacy positions on clean energy innovation for Europe.
