Role: Senior Research Analyst (Counter-Disinformation Specific)

Location: London or Istanbul.


  • Oversee the delivery and management of all disinformation-focused research and analysis (R&A) across multiple projects, from scoping through to completion ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Overseeing the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data in applied research setting.
  • Ensure R&A products meet the desired standards; provide feedback and mentor junior R&A colleagues.
  • Preparing clear and accessible reports with well evidenced conclusions and practical recommendations.
  • Presenting research findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Overseeing rapid evidence assessments and literature reviews.
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen digital research and reporting products.
  • Coordinate with peer and more senior colleagues across other teams and departments to deliver high-quality qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Developing new relationships and business opportunities as required.
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen field research and reporting products.
  • Contribute to the facilitation of relationships with new clients and partners through relevant briefs.
  • Help promote IN2 work by drafting communications materials, ad-hoc reports, Business development and supporting any other related needs.

Core Competencies:


  • Experience of applied quantitative and qualitative research techniques in the context of media, disinformation and propaganda.
  • Strong understanding of the theory of core qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  • Experience in data analytics and data science / visualization is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Knows sources of market and intelligence data and how to access them including datasets appropriate to IN2’s key areas of interest
  • Fluency in English and strong English drafting skills; knowledge of Arabic advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including digital and social media communications skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and workload for self and others in the team.

Work Experience

  • Field experience in fragile and conflict-affected environments advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years professional experience in government, academia, international organisations, NGOs or journalism.
  • Experience working with digital research tools and software, such as: online survey management software, statistical analysis software, qualitative data analysis software, modelling and Statistics analysis.


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, international relations, conflict studies, political science, sociology or related field.
  • Foundational degrees/courses in research statistics and methods essential.
  • Master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies or similar advantageous.
