Trinomics is a leading consultancy firm dedicated to supporting the transition to a low-carbon, green and climateresilient society. Our work includes applied economic research and policy advice, capacity building, and knowledge transfer in a wide range of climate and energy policy topics, with clients ranging from European institutions to national governments in Europe, to international clients such as bilateral and multilateral donors and international financial institutions.

As part of the expansion of our European business operations, we are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant on Energy Efficiency Policy to join our EU energy policy team, in one of our offices in Rotterdam, Brussels or Paris. The successful applicant will support the team in further expanding Trinomics’ project portfolio in European and international energy efficiency policies (e.g. targets, directive, energy efficiency in buildings & industry, energy services, energy label & ecodesign, heating and cooling, cogeneration, energy services, etc.).

Profile of the candidate

As Senior Consultant on Energy Efficiency Policy, you have profound knowledge of and interest in relevant climate and/or sustainable finance policies and policy assessment methods across different thematic fields, strong analytical capabilities, an eye for detail, the willingness to go that extra mile if necessary, and are keen on operating in multidisciplinary & international project teams.

Required

  • Completed Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Energy or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional work experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar field (e.g. consultancy, think-tank or other (policy-) research organisation);
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating project teams;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of consultancy projects as well as acquisition in the required areas of expertise, and a good network of established contacts with relevant EU climate policy stakeholders;
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant EU energy strategies & policies, in particular related to energy efficiency (EED and EPBD), and experience working on methods such as (EU) policy evaluations, impact assessments, and costbenefit analyses;
  • Quantitative capabilities (advanced Excel skills, statistical analysis, etc.) and modelling skills are a plus;
  • Ability to work, write and communicate fluently in English. The ability to work in additional (EU) languages is an advantage.
