SUMMARY OF THIS FUNCTION
The SFP Communications and Policy Intern supports the implementation of the SFP priorities in different areas. S/he will work closely with the SFP policy team. S/he will have a responsibility to support the development and implementation of various activities on issues such as (but not limited to): tobacco taxation, tobacco environmental mitigation, tobacco industry interference, the fight against illicit tobacco trade, tobacco advertising, smoke-free policies, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and cancer prevention.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for anyone willing to develop hands-on knowledge about EU-level policymaking, advocacy, and communications in the health, environment, and sustainability areas while working for a purpose in a motivated and mission-driven team. This would notably suit a person willing to take responsibility, at ease with multitasking, and eager to help expand the visibility of a committed NGO. Intermediate graphic design skills would be a significant plus.
By the end of the internship, the intern will be expected to understand the EU institutional landscape on priority issues, have practical experience in drafting policy and comms content (policy briefings, press releases, social media posts, newsletter, etc.), as well as sound knowledge of the EU policy-making processes. The desired applicant must demonstrate integrity, professional behavior, proactivity, and an ability to learn on the go and work in a small, multicultural, supportive team.
