Position description

Do you want to be a part of a strong and growing team supporting Danish Red Cross’ international work and are you the one to ensure the representation of DRC’s interests and visions in Brussels?

We are looking for a new Partnership Advisor in Brussels. In the position you will be a go-to persons for our partnership with ECHO in Brussels. The position lies within the unit Partnership & Compliance and you will work closely with the ECH matrix coordinator in head quarter in Copenhagen as well as field staff.

Your tasks

The main purpose of the Partnership Advisor is to nurture and develop the DRC relationships with ECHO in Brussels as well as represent DRC and the red cross in relevant fora. You will be based in the Red Cross EU office and coordinate closely with the team there. You will lead and advise on the strategic engagement, dialogue and resource mobilization approach towards ECHO in Brussels and to proactively explore and create new partnership opportunities.

A selection of your tasks will be to function as on-site and remote surge capacity for the ECHO matrix. E.g. proposal writing, technical quality assurance, monitoring visits in the field, facilitate kick-off workshops on new grants and provide input on ECHO policies, trends and technical discussion.

You will be responsible for providing updated, quality and timely advice and technical support to the operations.

Your competences

  • You hold an academic degree in social science, international development or similar;
  • You have strong analytical and strategic development skills;
  • You possess knowledge of DG ECHO or DG INTPA strategic developments and procedures;
  • You have documented experience from writing proposals and donor applications;
  • You have documented experience working in the field with humanitarian funded projects, preferably with DG ECHO funds;
  • You possess knowledge of and network from working in Brussels;
  • You have documented experience from working with documentation procedures, including data collection, reporting, monitoring and evaluation;
  • You have documented experience from working with and facilitating program design and program cycle management processes.

We work specifically on building preparedness and response capacity. DRC works both with long term activities and short-term response particularly within health, disaster preparedness and response. DRC is part of the Red Cross EU office in Brussels, but have two additional staff based in Brussels, who in a closely coordinated manner with the EU office, engage on behalf of DRC towards the EU institutions.

We offer

The position is a full-time, two-year employment. You will refer to the Head of partnership & Compliance in Copenhagen. Salary and employment conditions will be between DKK 42,000 and 45,000 including allowances and pension depending on experience and qualifications. The vacancy is not an expat position.
