Join us! Through our programs, we are preparing the next generation of youth to be engaged global citizens capable of both professionally and socially navigating an increasingly interconnected world. GNG is currently embarking on a three-year growth strategy that includes developing and launching an online teen community space for meaningful, cross-cultural dialogue outside of more formal classroom settings.

As Program Coordinator, you will play an important role in the Pulse program department. Pulse program topics and events are relevant, timely, and responsive to contemporary youth interests. They utilize emerging communication and storytelling technologies to engage youth from around the world in meaningful, topic-based dialogue. Your main responsibilities will center around the development of a new online community for teens. Additionally, this position will support an ongoing Pulse program partnership and also contribute to the implementation of our signature Campfire program. You will play an integral role in curating content, developing systems and strategies, and designing a youth-focused virtual experience. You will work closely with GNG team members in the New York and Amman offices, and with educators and youth around the world.  

Primary Responsibilities

Program Development 

  • Support the final phases of prototyping, testing and designing of our new direct-to-youth virtual exchange program
  • Create registration processes for user data collection and develop systems for moving youth from initial registration through successful participation in a new online system
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Branding team to define ideal outreach channels, develop messaging and fulfill other branding needs
  • Recommend themes, hot topics and content ideas based on relevant domestic and international news and culture

Program Implementation

  • Support the registration of educators and youth into programs
  • Manage the scheduling and coordinating of virtual events
  • Maintain the functionality and general health of this virtual youth community 
  • Provide technical support for global, live-streamed events
  • Update and maintain communication documents for educators and youth 
  • Moderate asynchronous interactions and/or GNG platform(s) 

Content Production

  • Support the production of programmatic assets and resources (e.g., videos, guides)
  • Support development of theme-based storytelling curriculum 
  • Research and design curated conversations for virtual discussions

Relationship Management

  • Provide ongoing communication with youth in online community
  • Support youth participating in GNG programs transitioning into alumni

Other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

You are interested in cross-cultural connections, and may even have personal experiences that draw you to our mission. You enjoy collaborating with diverse groups of people in local and international settings, and are a pro at balancing the varying needs of multiple parties. You’ve worked with youth in either formal or informal education settings. You’ve used dialogue, facilitation, or mediation in educational settings and have experience training or guiding groups to use new tools. You understand working in an international office requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate time zone differences. In your work, you are organized, but also leave room for adaptability, as you know things don’t always turn out as planned. You have 1-3 years of work experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. You are a global nomad.

This is a full-time exempt position based in New York City. International and domestic travel required 20% of the time. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Global Nomads Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
